Good news: Senator Todd Young to Lead Senate Push for Residence-Based Taxation for Americans Abroad Act

Thanks to you, we have reached a decisive milestone: We learned this week that Senator Todd Young (R-IN) has agreed to serve as the Senate Republican lead for the Residence-Based Taxation for Americans Abroad Act, the bill to end the double taxation of Americans abroad.

Representative Darrin LaHood (R-IL)’s Residence-Based Taxation for Americans Abroad Act will be re-introduced once the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) issues its budget score, a critical step towards adoption.The odds that it will pass are great: this legislation directly answers President Trump’s campaign promise to end the double taxation of Americans abroad.

None of this would have happened without TFFAA—or you ! For years, many organizations have worked on this issue without getting this far. What has changed today is the union of our forces, as leaders of most of the main organizations representing Americans abroad are now united within our Board.
